#2.42 The Answer 20140602 Brussels, Belgium, Sweden, Emil Vinterhav
Brussels is the political capital of EU in many aspects. It sports many fine sights among which are Grand place surrounded by grand buildings of centuries past. Above you find Moonhouse #2.42 – The answer on a landfall in Grand Place. It did pass Manneken Pis but found mooring hard in the crowd.
In the absense of the little boy eternally relieveing himself you find #2.42 attempting to find its karma with the orange Buddha below.
Congratulations Emil on your successful expedition. We wish you fair winds on your coming adventures.

Moonhouse in the EU elections 20140524 Anonymous explorer in Sweden
The Moonhouse is current. It is so current that it made an expedition to the EU elections in Sweden just to encourage democratic participation, brought there by an anonymous explorer.
Congratulations anonymous on your successful expedition and fair winds for your coming adventures.
Red house in Riga On September 1, 2013, Peter Wiklund brought house #2.26 to Riga
On September 1, 2013, Peter Wiklund brought house #2.26 to the freedom monument in Riga. This is the first expedition to the Baltic States and we are exited to learn that there is a red sister house in Latvia, albeit without the red corners. Check it out here.
Congratulations Peter on your successful expedition and fair winds for your coming adventures.
The Window of Oportunity to visit Venus is rapidly diminishing! Populär Astronomi reports that Observatoriemuseet, The Stockholm Observatory Museum will close down by the end of the year and no longer be accessible to the public. The Observatory is home to the Venus model of the Sweden Solar system and it is yet unclear what will happen to it. In addition to the exhibition that tells the story of observations in the faclilities dating back to the 18th century, the museum has hosted a series of lectures, available to the public on various scientific subjects. Both the exhibition and the lectures will be sorely missed.

In ”The Planets” challenge the Expedition sets out to explore the planets of the solar system. The plan is to explore the Moonhouse on the planets in visual representations, physically in the Sweden Solar System and, finally, in situ on the actual planets. The Sweden Solar System (SSS) is the worlds largest planetarium stretching over the length of Sweden with The Ericsson Globe Area as a scale model of the Sun and the Terminator Shock in Kiruna.
A part of the execution of this plan is to survey the SSS and it was when surveying the planets i Stockholm that the planet Venus was found missing from its named location at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). An enquirey into the mystery revealed that the model had acutually been stolen. According to Gösta Gahm, retired but active astronomer, it is possible that the model (image below) was assumed to be made from copper and stolen for is metal value. The model was in fact made from clay, which would likely have made the thieves very dissapointed, as the value of clay is significanlty less than that of copper. At that time, the expedition was relieved to find out that there was actually an over population of Venuses in SSS with a second model residing at the Observatory Museum.
With Venus becoming inaccessible at the end of the year, be sure to expect a Moonhouse expedition heading this way shortly.

This report from the Independence Day Expedition reaches us from Mike Morrison in the USA:
Last week the Crimson Tide house accompanied me and my wife to Gulf Shores, AL to celebrate the 4th of July. For the US this date represents our independence from Great Britain. Normally we have huge fireworks displays along with plenty to eat and drink, however this year Mother Nature did not play along:) So no pictures with fireworks unfortunately.
Image 5907 was taken on a dock looking out over Bon Secour Bay on July 2nd, the crane in the background would not come into focus.
Image 5913 is of the house floating on a lily pad in the lagoon on July 3rd.
Image 5904 was taken on July 4th.
Images 5950, 5963, and 5964 were taken on July 3rd at Fort Morgan, possibly the southern most point of the state of Alabama. This fort has been used in many of our nation’s domestic conflicts (a polite way of saying many cannons were fired from this place 🙂
Image 5986 was taken on July 5th at a place called Lulu’s. She is the sister of singer Jimmy Buffett. No margaritas for the house but plenty of fried okra and pot roast quesadilla and beer, obviously.
Here at HQ we particularly appreciate the picture with the Moonhouse together with the United States Flag. It stimulates thoughts on a level words are incapable of. It is art. Moonhouse belongs everywhere, everywhen, to everyone and to none.
Congratulations Mike to your novel and successful expedition and the beautiful imagery and thank you for highlighting this valuable aspect. Fair winds on your coming adventures.

Cissi Rikanovic brought Moonhouse #2.25 to the last function of the Croatian Embassy in Stockholm before Croatia became6 a member of the European Union.
Cicci Rikanovic brought Moonhouse #2.25 to wittness that last function at the Croatian Embassy in Stockholm before the country becomes a member of the European Union on July 1, 2013.
Cicci writes:
The Moonhouse has the honor to participate in the very last event on the Croatian Embassy in Stockholm before Croatia becomes the 28th EU Member State. [at the Croatian Embassy].
The picture is a little hazy. We understand that this was an emotional event where tears of nostaliga were shed.
We congratulate Cicci on her first completed expedition with House #2.25 and wish her fair winds on her coming adventures.
John-Olof Vinterhav brought Moonhouse #2.23 to the Church of nativity in Bethlehem in June 2013
The MoonHouse in the Middle East June 2013.
What could be a better stopover for the Moon House than the House of Stars, the Nativity Church in Bethlehem. There it could indulge in the light of fire as well as enjoy the company of stars. On its visit to Jerusalem it touched base with Al Aqsa which lent some golden glory and spiritual power for the onward journey.
This report from Jerusalem and Bethlehem reached the Moonhouse Expedition HQ a few days ago. John-Olof Vinterhav brought the house to so many places at once when he brought it to the Holy Land; Into history, religion, politics and more.
The Church of nativity and the Dome of rock are two of the places on Earth that are considered closest to heaven, if in a metaphysical sense. The Church of Nativity stands on the very place where Christians believe that Jesus Christ was born and the Dome of the Rock enshrines the place where Jews believe that God tested Abraham and Muslims believe that the Profet Muhammed ascended into heaven. (Correct me if I am wrong here.)
In this sense it is even more symbolic that the house only sees the Dome of the Rock in a distance as we have yet to reach the Moon.
We congratulate John-Olof Vinterhav on his successful expedition and wish him fair winds on his coming adventures.
John Olof has now passed Moonhouse #2.23 to Daniel Ahlberg for a road trip expedition to California and we take the opportunity to wish fair winds to Daniel on his expedition.
John Olof Vinterhav brought Moonhouse #2.23 to the Nativity Church in Bethlehem in June of 2013. The entrance to the church is the modest rectangular opening in the wall to the left of the house.

20130528 #2.31 Håkan & Jennifer Askaner Republiken Jemtland
Today, this arrived from Jennifer and Håkan Askaner, representatives of the proud people of Jämtland through the movement ”Republiken Jemtland”:
”Här kommer ett foto på huset på besök i republiken Jämtland. Färgerna i bilden representerar den Jämtländska flaggan. Grönt för skog, vitt för fjäll och blå för den klara himmelen. Där passar huset perfekt!
Vi föreslår att bilden ackompanjeras av denna låt:
Merit Hemmingson – Gammal jämtländsk brudmarsch (Jämtlandssången)
Utfört av Håkan och Jennifer Askaner.
28 maj 2013
Frösön, Jämtland, Sverige
Vänliga hälsningar!”
It translates to:
Here is a photo of the house visiting the Republic of Jämtland. The coulours in the picture represent the flag of Jämtland. Green represents forest, white represents mountains and blue represnents the clear sky. A perfekt setting for the house!
We suggest that the picture is set to the tune of:
Merit Hemmingson – Gammal jämtländsk brudmarsch (Jämtlandssången)
Accomlished by Håkan and Jennifer Akaner.
