Hi Emil!
Here are some more moonhouse pictures. This time shot on a hill in Menton in Southern France, at the side of the Winged Nike [Winged Victory of Samothrace] if I am not mistaken. There was no sunrise over the Sea available as background for the house but the first rays of light that found their way over the mountains offered pretty lighting. My favourite is 086.
Cheers!

Winged Nike is also known as Winged Victory of Samothrace and has been described as ”the greatest masterpiece of Hellenistic sculpture”. We agree that picture 086 (above) is very beautiful indeed but is a hard call to make considering the competition (right).
Congratualtions Christian to your successful expedition to, the Riviera, to the sun, to music (House of the Rising Sun) and to the Gods (Nike).

Expedition HQ was hard presses on wheter to call this house ”The Victory” or ”The House of the Rising Sun” but must settles in the latter: Let Moonhouse henceforth be known as The House of the Rising Sun.

Emil Vinterhav brought Moonhouse #3.1 to the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget on June 19, 2013

Last week was the time for one of the biggest events in aviation, The Paris Air Show at Le Bourget. Le Bourget is the airport where Charles Lindbergh landed with his Spirit of Saint Louis after performing the first non-stop flight across the Atlantic. Most of the worlds aviation industry was represented at the event that also featured daily demonstration flights with the Airbus A380 and the Sukhoi SH-35, displays of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, air acrobatics and more.

House #3.1 was there too of course. In the above picture it is seen on the roof of Breitlings Bently.

Location:Le Bourget, France

It’s a bird. It’s a plane. It’s a … house on my toe!

Sini Merikallio has outdone herself again. What else can you say about this inspiring and mind challenging picture of the house on a toe.

Och när namnet var redan ”Animal Kingdom”, visiterad denna hus naturligtvis också Lille Zoo.

We guess that the house in the background of the second image is the ”Hôtel de Ville de Lille” but we have absolutely no idea what the big rodent (or moose?) in the background is. A newly discovered mammal perhaps. You never know what you will find on an amazing adventure.

Thank you for the beautiful pictures Sini. Congratulation to yet another successful expedition and fair winds for your coming adventures.

Peter Wiklund brought house #2.26 to Madrid in Spain on June 17, 2013.

Peter Wiklund has lain new grounds to explore for the Moonhouse.

This message from Peter reached HQ a few days ago:

Hej, jag tog med mitt hus (2.26) i bagaget till Madrid i helgen… men bagaget kom bort på vägen!
Fick tillbaks väskan lagom till jag skulle åka hem – så huset fick stå på Barajas flygplats utanför Madrid…

Hi, I brought my house (2.26) along in my baggage to Madrid this weekend… But the baggage was lost in transit! I got my bag back right when I was about to go back – so I had to place the house at the Barajas airport outside Madrid…
Pictures taken Monday June 17, 2013.

Well what can we say. Adventures are… well adventurous. Good thing you got your luggage back Peter and that house #2.26 is safely back and ready for more exloring.

Congratulations Peter on your successful expedition and fair winds for your coming adventures.

Nils Pokrupa brought house #2.2 on an expedition to Legoland on June 18. 2013. The short version of the expedition story is told in the above pictures where the house is documented on the way there first on the Öresund bridge, then in the Öresund Tunnel and finally at LEGOland in Billund, Denmark.

As a curiosity, the Öresund bridge also figured in an earlier expedition to Malmö.

We trust that the visit to Legoland was as enjoyable to the Pokrupa familty as can ever as good as can be hoped for. Congratulations to you all on your successful expedition and fair winds for your future adventures.

Cicci writes:

The Moonhouse has the honor to participate in the very last event on the Croatian Embassy in Stockholm before Croatia becomes the 28th EU Member State. [at the Croatian Embassy].

The picture is a little hazy. We understand that this was an emotional event where tears of nostaliga were shed.

We congratulate Cicci on her first completed expedition with House #2.25 and wish her fair winds on her coming adventures.

Art in Heaven

John-Olof Vinterhav brought Moonhouse #2.23 to the Church of nativity in Bethlehem in June 2013

John-Olof Vinterhav brought Moonhouse #2.23 to the Church of nativity in Bethlehem in June 2013

The MoonHouse in the Middle East June 2013.
What could be a better stopover for the Moon House than the House of Stars, the Nativity Church in Bethlehem. There it could indulge in the light of fire as well as enjoy the company of stars. On its visit to Jerusalem it touched base with Al Aqsa which lent some golden glory and spiritual power for the onward journey.

This report from Jerusalem and Bethlehem reached the Moonhouse Expedition HQ a few days ago. John-Olof Vinterhav brought the house to so many places at once when he brought it to the Holy Land; Into history, religion, politics and more.

The Church of nativity and the Dome of rock are two of the places on Earth that are considered closest to heaven, if in a metaphysical sense. The Church of Nativity stands on the very place where Christians believe that Jesus Christ was born and the Dome of the Rock enshrines the place where Jews believe that God tested Abraham and Muslims believe that the Profet Muhammed ascended into heaven. (Correct me if I am wrong here.)
In this sense it is even more symbolic that the house only sees the Dome of the Rock in a distance as we have yet to reach the Moon.

We congratulate John-Olof Vinterhav on his successful expedition and wish him fair winds on his coming adventures.

John Olof has now passed Moonhouse #2.23 to Daniel Ahlberg for a road trip expedition to California and we take the opportunity to wish fair winds to Daniel on his expedition.

The House of the Rising Sun?

On June 1, 2013. Patrik Wennberg brought the house to New Orleans, USA. Patrik writes:

There is a house in New Orleans.

Picture Taken June 1st 2013.

The Moonhouse brings some colour to the sun baked city of New Orleans. Now there is a house in New Orleans. Could it possibly be the ”House of the Rising Sun”? Another Moonhouse in Music?

Congratulations Patrik on your successful expedition. We wish you fair winds or your coming adventures and hope to hear from coming expeditions of Moonhouse #2.28.
